The Platte Lake Improvement Association
P.O. Box 272
Honor, Michigan 49640-0272
The PLIA Annual Meeting normally is held in the morning on the first Saturday in August. Recent meetings have been held in the Homestead Township Hall, in Honor. This is the Association's yearly, formal general membership meeting.
For anyone interested in Platte Lake, this meeting is well worth attending.
In addition to administrative and business items and updates by the board of directors on current issues and initiatives, the agenda usually includes presentations addressing the state of the hatchery and the lake by Mr. Gary Whelan, the MDNR Fisheries Division Hatcheries Manager, and Dr. Ray Canale, the Settlement Implementation Coordinator. In addition, we usually have at least one other speaker on a topic of special interest.
This meeting is a great way to get up-to-speed on issues involving Platte Lake, to get your questions discussed and answered, and also is a great way to meet neighbors or to just renew acquaintances.
Handouts, including a meeting agenda, a pre-annual meeting newsletter and any particularly relevant lake data are sent to members prior to the meeting, and copies also are available at the door.
